Terms of Service

By accessing or using the Halo Record website (halorecord.com) and the Halo Record Uploader desktop application (collectively, the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

Halo Record is a community-built platform that retrieves, stores, and displays gameplay data from Halo: The Master Chief Collection. The Service provides:

• Player profile pages with service records, kill/death ratios, and win rates.
• TrueSkill rating tracking with delta calculations across all playlists.
• Season leaderboards and global rankings.
• Full match history with detailed carnage report data.
• A desktop companion application that automatically captures and uploads carnage reports from your local Halo MCC installation.

The Service relies on unofficial Halo MCC APIs and locally generated game data. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or availability of any data displayed.

To access certain features (such as generating API keys for the desktop uploader), you must authenticate through Xbox Live using your Microsoft account. By signing in, you authorize Halo Record to receive your Xbox gamertag and XUID for the purpose of linking your session to your player data.

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and API keys. Do not share your API key with others. If you believe your API key has been compromised, revoke it immediately from the Settings page and generate a new one.

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws.
• Attempt to access, tamper with, or use non-public areas of the Service, its servers, or its databases.
• Scrape, crawl, or use automated means to extract data from the Service at a volume or rate that degrades performance for other users.
• Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity.
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service.
• Upload falsified or manipulated carnage report data.

Halo Record is an independent community project. We do not claim ownership of any intellectual property belonging to Microsoft Corporation, 343 Industries, Xbox Game Studios, or Bungie.

"Halo", "Halo: The Master Chief Collection", "Xbox", "Xbox Live", "TrueSkill", and all related logos, characters, names, and distinctive likenesses are trademarks or registered trademarks of Microsoft Corporation. Their use on this site is for identification and reference purposes only and does not imply sponsorship, endorsement, or affiliation.

The Halo Record name, logo, and website design are the property of the Halo Record project. You may not use our branding without prior written permission.

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes what data we collect and how we handle it. By using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read and understood the Privacy Policy.

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that:

• The Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.
• The data displayed will be accurate, complete, or current.
• The unofficial APIs we depend on will continue to be available or function as expected.
• The desktop companion application will be compatible with all system configurations.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Halo Record and its contributors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, opportunities, reputation, or profits, whether in an action of contract, negligence, or other tortious action, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service.

Because the Service is provided free of charge, our total aggregate liability for any claims relating to the Service is limited to zero dollars ($0.00 USD).

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice. Reasons for termination may include, but are not limited to, violations of these Terms, abusive use of the API, or uploading manipulated data.

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (including Disclaimer of Warranties, Limitation of Liability, and Intellectual Property) will remain in effect.

We may revise these Terms at any time by updating this page. Changes take effect immediately upon posting. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be resolved in the courts of competent jurisdiction within the United States.
